givenchy fall 2009 accessories

"the milan of the midwest"

today's huffington post had an article about chicago beginning to make a name for itself in the fashion industry. we single-handedly owe this to Michelle Obama. i must say mayor daley has done a lot to make chicago more of a fashion city, but Michelle turned the whole world onto chicago's potential. read the article here.

one step to far

alexander wang designed this bag exclusively for shopbop. i do not enjoy the denim looking leather. fug. but i did hear that the coco mini duffel will be available with silver studs on the bottom in the fall at barneys

trashy magazines, traveling wouldn't be the same without them
comfortable shoes, my choice? sue london flats

bottled water.
giant wrap because planes are always too cold
and of course a eye mask so you can get some beauty sleep!

omg. how could i forget??? most important for travel, iPhone!! how else can you watch old episodes of GG?

playboy covers circa 1960's & 70's

playboy used to be so much more tasteful and stylish in the 60's and 70's, now it might as well just be called 'd-listers trying to make their way up to the c-list by getting naked'

all the text they put on todays covers is too distracting. note to playboy: men are not buying your magazine because of your interview with kenny chesney

georgia may jagger

georgia may jagger, the 17 year old daughter of mick jagger and jerry hall, is making her modeling debut this fall. her first job in the modeling industry is with hudson jeans for their fall ad campaign. here are a few pics of the ads.

...and some of her personal style candids

Wednesday, July 22, 2009 wants me to be poor.

alexander wang resort 2010
i love both of these looks so much, they are so effortless... and i spy the coco mini duffle in suede
need the giant poncho in my life
i'm dying to see the tank that is hidden under the black motorcycle jacket

the navy sequin goddess dress just screams new years eve to me
going to have to save up for a least one of these dresses

tim burton's alice in wonderland

i know these are meant to be weird/scary, but johnny depp and helana bonham carter's pictures realllllllllllly frighten me. i don't think i will be able to see this movie.

this one on the other hand i love.. yes the faces in the flowers might give me nightmares, but i love the colors of the vibrant flowers against the dull background

alexa chung

alexa chung is a model, turned tv host, turned mtv show host, and now she is a contributing editor for british vogue. everywhere i turn i feel like i am seeing her face and while her it girl status is starting to annoying me... i cannot deny her on and off screen style

i die for the acne mirror wedges (2nd from the right)

shopbop sale

because it is so rare for shopbop to have any sort of a sale, i figure i would make a post about their 2 day sale. get an additional 20% off of sale items with the code 'sale20'.

my fave sale picks are...

love this pencey dress.. from $326 down to $165 and with the coupon code.. $132

cute dolce vita gladiators, you can never have too many sandals for summer... right?

$175, to $122, and now $98

i love big necklaces.. and i think this kenneth jay lane one would be so cute with just a plain white tank. still on the expensive side but a lot less than what it used to be!
was $528, to $264, and now $212

how can there possibly be another bag i need to have?

dvf's stephanie hobo has been a semi-it bag this past year. i tried to ignore it, but it is so hard not to lust over this bag. it comes in 2 sizes large and medium, the large looks kind of huge on beyonce below, so i think i would opt for the medium. the gold and magenta colors are available now on shopbop (gold) and dvf (gold and magenta) and the silver is available for pre-order on neimans. the prices aren't horrendous medium for $875 and large for $915, so maybe you can stop drooling and go buy one!

so not only is rashida jones ridiculously gorgeous, but i have also started to notice her great red carpet style. rashida's sister kidada is a stylist, so maybe it is really her sister with the great style, but rashida pulls the looks off effortlessly

vintage reincarnated = reformation store

i love this idea for a store..

one of my fave contemporary designers Yael Aflalo (of YAYA and Love YAYA) opened up a store in nyc with her former designer Chi Bui. the concept behind the store is that Yael & Chi shop thrift stores, dead stock textiles, etc and create new pieces of out vintage fabrics. the designers say that they came up with the idea because they wanted to help with the "green" movement. most pieces come in multiple sizes and if something doesn't fit you right, they will alter the piece in house. next time i am on the lower east shopping (143 ludlow st, to be exact) i will be sure to stop by Reformation.

more reasons megan fox should never open her mouth

"Well, I'm clearly not ugly." - Entertainment Weekly, June 2009

"I think people are born bisexual and the make subconscious choices based on the pressures of society. I have no question in my mind about being bisexual. But I'm also a hypocrite: I would never date a girl who is bisexual, because that means they also sleep with men, and men are so dirty that I'd never sleep with a girl who had slept with a man." - Esquire, June 2009

"I resent having to prove that I'm not a retard." - Esquire, June 2009

"If you eat Chinese food, your farts come out like Chinese food. If you eat Mexican food, your farts come out like Mexican food. And milk, it's like-you can smell the warmth in the fart. My wardrobe on Transformers always smells like farts, and I have no idea why." - GQ, October 2008

"I need to behave in a way that will cause people to take me seriously." - Entertainment Tonight, June 2009

"I've never been a big believer in formal education." - CosmoGirl, June/July 2008
